Eddie

WHO WANTS TO SEE EDDIE?

Plan a trip to visit Eddie, the main character of Patsy's first unintentional reality-based romance (not really) fiction.

Leave a comment. Thanks.

Haha.

Picture has been removed.

Oh Oh, my current valuable possession:

Texas Instruments - T1 84Plus Graphic Calculator. Gaya or not? Hahahaha.

School Days Are Really the Best (2)

.... let's continue... Ahh, just before I start, I'm surprised none of you asked about the guy I used to like. Really not interested? Angelin? LOL so far, only Yi Pin asked.

Another interesting activity I took part in that year (2005) was the Celcom Youth Ambassador (CYA). I'm sure those of you who were in it will agree with me wholeheartedly. Basically, the idea of this event was to come out with a project whereby you raise awareness/make a difference in people's lives. It was a meaningful event and only 20 schools were selected to participate. The theme we chose was 'Heritage' - to encourage the public/students to appreciate and value Penang's priceless heritage.

I will not bore you with unnecessary details, but all our hard work paid off when CGL was one of the state champions (the other winner was MBS). The final presentation took place in the heart of Malaysia, KL and in the heart of KL city, KLCC. Although we did not win (A school from Sarawak did), but we enjoyed ourselves in the process nonetheless.

In 2005, Pn. Sharifah retired. And for the farewell event, my class did a skit... which was... errrm... hilarious. Hehe and in that year, Mr. Lim, too, retired.

*Current buzz - I've heaps of Mathematical Studies homework to complete. NOOOO!

How are you, HSC students? Hope to hear from you guys soon, especially those in my Blogroll. ;)

Gong Xi Fa Chai, everyone!

School Days Are Really The Best (1)

Often I hear teachers telling students who are about to graduate from high school - School Days are the best, an experience that can only be acquired once in a lifetime. I've been through this important phase and now I'm in a new one: College.

Here's a recap of my secondary school life. It may not be very interesting, as I wasn't not one of those active students in school. Not to mention that those participating opportunities were given to those with skyhigh results in exam. This is logic. Of course teachers would choose those outstanding ones to represent the school in competitions. You can't be expecting them to risk our alma mater's reputation, can you? I'm not complaining. I'm rather glad. But anyway,

In 2004...

I was a member of the School's Choir. My first time going for an audition and to be honest, I can't really sing. The reason I chose choir is because I wasnt keen to become a Girl Guide nor a Red Crescent Society member. What more, a police cadet. That year, I wasn't able to play the violin yet, I only picked that up the next year. I was in the English Language Society, too. And I was elected as a Form Representative.

Being a first former in a new school (though the name CGL remained, lol, since Std. 1), I was rather afraid to talk to teachers and seniors. A naive 13-year-old like myself didn't really enjoy being a freshman. And that year, I hated boys. Those in my tuition classes, especially. Eventhough I was around friends of mine who were, at that time, crazy over boys from our neighbouring school (PFS lah, where else?!), I was pretty much annoyed.

In 2005...

I presided over the afternoon session's ELS. And I was able to play the violin. So, I withdrew from choir and off I went to String Ensemble. Puan Sharifah was our principal, and SE's mentor. Pieces we performed were handpicked by her. CGL's SE, to date is the society with the least members, with approximately 19 members yearly. As a new member in the unit, I was (again) rather afraid to do things my own way. My violin skills improved in weeks. Part of it was due to Puan Sharifah's motivation, and part of it was because I was afraid of Puan Gwee.

2005 was the year I started to cut back my hatred towards boys. A year makes a lot of difference, no? That was year I liked someone. (Be surprised, people!) And it's a boy. Yes, my first time having this much of affection for someone. I didn't share this with anyone, not even my best friend because I was afraid. I was afraid of being laughed at, though to think of it now, this memory will be one I keep for the rest of my life. 'Memory' in this context is not referring to things I did for him vice versa, but rather my feelings and emotions at that moment. Liking someone, for me, was difficult because I wanted that person to know how much I cared for him, and yet, the fear of rejection hindered me from expressing my true feelings. To date, he remains a mystery no one can ever unveil, unless someone reading this has psychic powers. Haha!

I will stop here for now. 2005 was indeed a long year. Till then, here's a task for you:

Count the number of times the word 'afraid' appeared in the above text.

Heee...

College and Other Musings

*Yawn* Will post some meaningful content tomorrow, or maybe you'll have to wait 'til the weekends just so I've the time to stick my butt on the chair and type fervently. And it's almost my snooze time now. Yes, yes, It's 10.09 ok, now 10.10pm but my system is shutting down like an obsolete Sundae machine. Zzz...

I know you HSC students have Math Ext. 1 exercises which are as tough as trying to swim with Michael Phelps and break his World record(s) to solve around the clock, but please do get some good rest, okay? Especially Angelin who's getting thinner by the day. Hohohoho...

I have a weird Accounting Studies lecturer. Very, very weird.

Till then, hope this post satisfies your hunger for Patsy's "creative" story-producing blog. Heee :D

(Knocked out)

Right, I shall continue from here. College life is not fun. At all. Maybe except for the socializing part. Meeting new people from different backgrounds and most of all, being in the same class with boys for the first time since kindergarten (lol) are all new to me. Tuition classes for the past 5 years with boys don't count, okay? That was about 1 hour and 30 minutes per week. This is 8 hours, 5 days a week. Hahaha...

SAM is a pre-U course whereby coursework and assignments are taken into account. But, apparently, my Accounting lecturer gives us tests every Monday! *weeps* This is worse than school. T______T

And Arts students will be getting a new Mathematical Studies lecturer starting this week. WHY LIKE THAT? Sigh, I'm just starting to get used to Ms. Geong's style of lecture, and to top things off, Ms. Geong's class is fun. What a way to start off long Thursdays and Fridays.

No more Ms. Geong, it's Dr. Chuah we're talking about here. He's currently teaching Specialist Math and he's taking (stealing) some students from Ms. Geong's class, reason being there are too many students taking Math Studies, as though it's compulsory. Sigh... I'm sighing too much here.

Accounting test tomorrow. Been pestering Teik Wooi all weekend, heh. CNY's coming! cheers!

Patsy's First Post on Boy-Girl Relationships

As ironic as this may sound, though I haven't actually had a chance to have a relationship (for now), I actually have a lot to say about this.

Firstly, assuming my judgement is correct, one should be loyal to his/her partner. Wait. This IS correct. It's a fact. Okay. This simply means a boy or a girl should not be having a second affair with another party when he/she is engaged in an 'official' relationship with a partner. So, one cannot possibly have the best of both worlds, right? I didn't say that, the marriage law did.

Sadly, in our society, or rather, a society which is only known to me (I hope), people's mentality and rationale are going through a transmogrification - they seem to think that having a secret relationship with a third party is nothing at all. To defend themselves, they came up with excuses like:

A) I'll feel guilty if I ditch my girlfriend (official) just to be with her (third party).
B) I sympathize her (third party) so I gave her a chance and try out this relationship.
C) I love both. Is it possible for me to have two instead of choosing just one?

Those 3 are the only excuses I can come up with based on a true story heard and shared. I'm going to share this story with you then. (No cliffhangers, promise!)

Once upon a time....

There was a boy named Eddie*. Eddie lived with his single dad, of which this boy
obviously had suffered a lot from his recently-broken family. He couldn't accept
the fact at first, but slowly he began to understand that everything happened
for a reason, a reason he knew too well that he swore to himself not to let it
happen again. He had a good friend, Jo*, who was there for him all the time when
he needed someone to talk to. Eddie managed to sail through this tough phase of
his life, because of Jo. She helped him recover. She gave him the reason to move
on. He loved her. They became an item and things went smoothly between them.
Just like a romantic Korean love story. Okay, just kidding about that part.

Helen* was a girl who went to the same Math class as Eddie. Eddie, tall
and dark seemed to attract girls' attention easily. Helen was no exception. She
fell for him the third week of the class, of which she denied and pretended that
she despised him due to his confidence of giving the correct answers and not
giving others a chance to answer. That was that, and as time passed, she
realised she was in love with him very much. She started to ask her friends for
his numbers and not long after, they became friends.

If I can remember
it well, Helen took quite some time to confess her feelings. Eddie couldn't
accept her feelings as he was in a relationship with Jo at that time. He kindly
rejected Helen and told her he preferred them to be friends. Helen was
depressed. She told him she could wait. No matter how long it will take, she
would wait. If that didn't touch Eddie, it has certainly made an impact on
Eddie. Eddie didn't want to hurt her. He didn't want to be the mean one.

Helen and Eddie became close friends. Eddie soon found himself more
comfortable sharing his problems with Helen than doing so with Jo. Since then,
Eddie started to diverge his concentration - he realized he was spending more
time with Helen, his best friend. Just best friend?

Eddie told Helen he
loved her four months later. It meant the world for Helen, but little did he
realize (or remember) he was still in a relationship with Jo. A strained
relationship. Jo was independent. She didn't need to text her boyfriend all day
just to know he was doing fine. Just a simple text message will do. Or a phone
call. That was enough for Jo. But Eddie needed attention and the only attention
that was able to be provided by Helen. But he couldn't leave Jo. It was her
kindness and sincerity that made him pull through. She saved him when he thought
he couldn't move on with life when his parents divorced. He loved her... to
thank her. He was being grateful. And that reason was enough for him to retain
the relationship. He cannot and will not make the same mistake his father did.
Never. He didn't have the courage to tell Jo the truth.

Helen, on the
other hand, loved Eddie with her life. She wasn't encouraging Eddie to breakup
with his girlfriend. She wanted his attention and care as much as he wanted
hers. But it wasn't worth it. Not at all. Eddie didn't want to leave Jo, but
didn't want to stop loving Helen at the same time. (Jerk) He wanted both. If
only he didn't have to choose... Helen couldn't take it anymore. She wanted to
tell Jo that Eddie was secretly having a relationship (kind of) with the former.
It was a win-or-lose situation. One must leave. Helen didn't have the courage to
tell Jo. She didn't know how. Nothing in this universe can make Helen surrender
Eddie to Jo. She thought Eddie loved her more - Eddie was hers.

Torn in
between two: That was exactly Eddie's situation. He loved Jo out of gratefulness
and Helen out of... sympathy. (Jerk x2!)

But just how long can things
remain at this state? How long can Eddie keep the two girls? Something bad is
bound to happen. Just... when?

I need some feedback. I know this is not exactly important. But.... just a feedback will do. :D

College

I apologize for the lack of updates. I was busy with college work and... wait. We don't have any homework yet. I still need time to rest as my classes end at 4pm everyday (almost). I'm currently taking the South Australian Matriculation pre-University course in Disted-Stamford College.

(5 ARIFIANS 2008! ENROL NOW) Sigh, what in the world is happening? We have ex-CGLians going to Disted college but still, I'm the only 5 Arifian there. *weeps* Why? Because all my close friends enrolled in the HSC course @ Inti college. T_________T Why lah like that?

But fortunately, I've Florence, Hwei Yuin and E-Maine to spend the day with, or else....

I have some classmates/coursemates/college mates who have that intimidating expression on their faces. If you're wondering it's only before lunchtime, I might have to correct you. Sigh, now I feel like an idiot smiling everytime when I meet a student I thought I know.

Will post something about my lecturers some time soon. Nothing bad, of course. Be patient, Joyce ;)
